Preparing for Your AC Maintenance or Repair Appointment

My air conditioner stopped working! Is it too late for a tune-up?

Preparing for your AC or heating system service appointment is kind of like preparing for a visit to see your dentist— it can go really good or painfully bad! If you’ve been diligent with brushing and flossing — you’ll feel pretty confident you’ll be coming out of the chair a winner! Which means you won’t have to go back for another 6 months! And it won’t cost a bunch of money to fix what you’ve neglected!

Well the same is really true for your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. If you’ve given your system the care it requires (like regular brushing and flossing!) — the service appointment should be delightful…like meeting up with an old friend!

The maintenance that is required for your system every year:

  • AC tune-up for the cooling season
  • Heating tune-up for the heating season

This is true if you have a heat pump, gas furnace, central air conditioning or a mini split ductless system. Plus, you have peace of mind knowing that you:

  • Keep your system operating at peak efficiency — saving energy costs!
  • Prolong the life of your system — with proper care it can last for many years!
  • Keep your manufacturer’s warranty valid
  • Help identify and fix minor problems before they become bigger problems!

However, if you’ve neglected that maintenance, you could regret it.Believe me, it can be easy to forget if you’re not reminded — I’ve done it myself before coming to work for one of the best heating and cooling contractors in Northern Virginia.

Just like that trip to the dentist…if you neglected your check ups — you’re beyond the basic AC tune-up and you’re deep into the diagnosis and fees associated with fixing the problem. It might just be too late for a simple AC tune-up!

As our friend Gary recently stated in his 5 star Google Review:“I directly attribute the long life we have been able to get (from our HVAC units) since they were new in 2004”…to M.E. Flow service.
